And that was it: nine walks out of London. A charting of the space of the city and the length of 2016, quietly referencing places and events before shrinking from the reach of landmarks. Each walk an elemental template of the same emotional and physical landscapes; each a version of the others.

By presenting new views of London I had thought that the walks would give me new insights into the city. But I was surprised how rarely I glimpsed the worlds of those walks again, as if they could only be accessed from Charing Cross roundabout.
